Influence of the Substrate Material and of the Phase and Elemental Composition of AlN and AlxCr1 – xN Coatings on Their Protective Properties
摘要
Abstract
Coatings of AlN and AlxCr1 – xN were obtained by pulsed magnetron sputtering onto steels 1017, T1, and 5140. The protective effect of the AlxCr1 – xN coating in 3% NaCl solution was found to increase when the volume fraction of the phase c-Cr0.57Al0.43N grows to >90% while the Al/Cr ratio is within 0.78–1.36, and when the volume fraction of the electrochemically inert phase c-AlN is 1–5%. Coatings of AlN and AlxCr1 – xN with icor ~ 10–7 A cm–2 show the highest corrosion resistance in 3% NaCl solution.
