Constructing Mathematical Models for Longitudinal Section Profile Formation in the End Parts of Cold-Rolled Strips at Unsteady-State Rolling Stages Using a Multistand Rolling-Mill

Abstract
The formation of strip thickness and changes in cold rolling parameters at unsteady-state stages of the loading-acceleration and braking-release process of the 1400 TsDS rolling-mill at the JSC NLMK is studied. Mathematical models for cold-rolled longitudinal strip profile formation in the first and last (fourth) stands of the 1400 TsDS rolling-mill are presented with the use of analytical and empirical methods, as well as techniques for constructing the latter are described. The developed regression models can be used for to predict changes in strip thickness after the first and last stands and to adjust the formation of the transverse profile of rolled strips in the course of 1400 TsDS rolling-mill acceleration and braking.
