Analysis of the Firing Effect on the Metallurgical Properties of Iron Ore Pellets
摘要
This article analyzes the works on optimization of the Kachkanar concentrate pellet technology. Three oxidized iron ore pellet technologies are considered. It is established that the quality of pellets can be improved by introducing pellet firing with partial hematite dissociation. The choice of the firing temperature of fluxed pellets containing refractory oxides of magnesium and titanium is substantiated. It is shown that the technology of deep bed pellet firing provides the necessary level of heat treatment of the layer and can be used in combination with the mode for obtaining partially dissociated pellets in an oxidizing environment without reconstruction of kilns. It is established that pellets obtained with partial hematite dissociation (PHD), in comparison with pellets obtained by intensive heating, have higher mechanical strength, abrasion and strength during reduction. During the smelting of the pilot pellet batch and the experimental studies related to the study of their behavior in the upper levels of blast furnaces, it is found that the use of pellets obtained with PHD allows to reduce the consumption of coke, natural gas and to increase the blast furnace efficiency.
