Abstract

Based on computer simulation results obtained for the processes of three-roll screw rolling of steel billets at roll feed angles of 12 and 20 degrees, it has been established that with increasing feed angle, the average value of the accumulated strain decreases and the uniformity of the accumulated strain level in the bulk of the billet increases. Changing in the feed angle from 12 to 20 degrees does not affect the average temperature in the bulk of the billet and provides a decrease in range of temperature values. The increase in the feed angle leads to a 27% decrease in the range of total velocity values between the surface and the center of the billet at the exit from the strain zone.
