Analytical Study of the Reduction of Contact Pressure during Cold Rolling of Thick Strips with a Single Deformation Zone

Abstract
A significant decrease in the average relative stress on the surface of contact with rolling rolls during the transition from dual- to single-zone cold rolling of thick steel strips is established by means of analytical studies. This makes it possible to increase the service life of rolling rolls by reducing their wear and the probability of crack formation.
