Experience in Using Carbon Reducing Agents with Different Electrical Resistivities for Ferrosilicon Smelting
摘要
Based on the results of scientific research and production experience in smelting of ferrous-based alloys in electric furnaces, the technological methods of increasing the active resistance of bath using types of carbonaceous reducing agents with different electrical resistivities are considered. It has been shown that an increase in bath resistance, mainly due to the use of reducing agents with an increased electrical resistivity, helps to improve smelting parameters. As a result of the use of a number of reducing agents, the electric furnace operates at an increased operating voltage, the furnace power factor improves, the active power in the bath increases, the specific energy consumption decreases and the productivity when smelting ferrosilicon increases. Options for smelting are considered with an increase in the energy-technological criterion for the operation of a ferroalloy furnace.
