Improving the Operation Efficiency of Steel Making Ladle Refractory at the Electric Steelmaking Shop of the Seversky Pipe Plant

Abstract
The method of increasing the operation efficiency of steel ladle refractories at the STZ plant by optimizing the lining scheme has been considered. Testing the new scheme allowed to assess the potential cost reduction for ladle refractories by 20%, increasing the efficiency of ladle lining usage in the metal zone up to 50%.
