Analytical Study of Heat Source Formation on Component Part Surface at Electrospark Alloying

Abstract
This study presents theoretical studies of the pattern of heat source formation on electrodes at low-voltage electrospark alloying. Analytical dependencies of released heat power on electron ionization current and cathode thermal emission are obtained. It is established that, at electrospark alloying at low-voltage spark discharge, roughly about 66% of the heat power is emitted at the anode; thus, thermal emission does not make any significant contribution. The average concentration of ions and the kind of its change in the spark path are determined by analysis. According to theoretical reasoning, at each time instant, the pressure remains the same in the entire cross-section of the channel.
