Mounting a Vibration Sensor to the Ground at Subfreezing Temperatures

Abstract
A series of experiments was conducted to measure ground vibrations from impact loads under subzero temperatures using sensors attached to the ground in various ways. The signals were compared based on amplitude and frequency parameters using correlation analysis. The analysis of the results made it possible to estimate the ranges of amplitudes and frequencies of the vertical and horizontal components of vibration signals for each type of sensor mounting. These results make it possible to organize a series of vibration measurements in field and construction site conditions during the winter period in an optimal way.
