Abstract <p>The principles of the Russian system of scientific information revival are discussed. In the author’s opinion, these principles should be based on the real state of the scientific information sphere presented on the Internet. The previous experience of the inventory of Internet resources and actors is characterized. The INION RAS project aimed at creating a Register of information resources in historical and philological sciences is described. The structure of the database and the methodology for describing and presenting information objects in the project are discussed. The main quantitative results are presented. The possibilities of using the obtained results to develop a plan for optimizing the scientific infosphere are considered.</p>
