Abstract <p>The article deals with complex industrial products, including military and dual-use items, developed and produced by enterprises of the military-industrial complex. A large number of tests are required for its actual development. It is economically feasible to conduct such tests in a virtual space at the design stage of the product, that is, carrying out computer modeling (the use of digital twins (DTs)) in the process of developing relevant products. The use of DT technologies and the transfer of the main part of the tests to the design stage avoids the re-production of the prototype, using a virtual copy, which reduces the cost of products and gives advantages in the competition.</p>
