Optimizing the Number of Passes in Logical Image Filtering Tasks
摘要
Abstract
This paper presents a method for optimizing the number of passes to reduce image processing time using a 3 × 3 window in various operations, such as logical filtering and/or depth map construction. A key feature of the proposed method is the use of two passes, one in the forward direction and the other in reverse. Pseudocodes are provided to illustrate the essential steps of the proposed passes. The performance of the method is evaluated through the analysis of the temporal characteristics of image processing. A comparative analysis revealed that by applying the optimized number of passes, the processing time for the 3 × 3 window is reduced by 2.38 times. This conclusion is corroborated by the results of simulation modeling.
