Abstract <p>One hundred and two samples of helvine, danalite, and genthelvite from 35 locations of various genetic types, as well as two crystals of synthetic analogues of helvine and danalite, have been studied. It is shown that these beryllosilicates (unlike structurally similar sodalite-group aluminosilicates) contain sulfur primarily as S<sup>2–</sup> and a minor <InlineEquation ID="IEq1"> <InlineMediaObject> <ImageObject Color="BlackWhite" FileRef="11969_2025_7491_Article_IEq1.gif" Format="GIF" Height="20" Rendition="HTML" Resolution="72" Type="Linedraw" Width="29" /> </InlineMediaObject> <EquationSource Format="TEX">\({\text{S}}_{2}^{{\bullet {\kern 1pt} - }}\)</EquationSource> <!--BGeoMGU2570052Bulakh-m1--> </InlineEquation> radical anion. The nature of minor Ca and Al in these minerals is considered.
