Abstract

The CMS Collaboration has performed several precision measurements of heavy-flavor production in proton–proton collisions at the CERN LHC. In this paper, three recent results are summarized: the determination of \(B\) meson production fraction ratios at \(\sqrt{s}=13\) TeV using hadronic decays of \(B\) hadrons, the first observation of \(\Upsilon(1S)\) meson production in association with a \(Z\) boson at \(\sqrt{s}=13\) TeV, and a new measurement of the double-differential cross sections of charm production at \(\sqrt{s}=7\) TeV. These studies provide important inputs for flavor physics and new tests of perturbative QCD and hadronization models.
