Abstract <p>The article provides an overview of the works and the results obtained in the Department of Celestial Mechanics of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute, Lomonosov Moscow State University (SAI MSU) on the dynamics of satellites of major planets and small bodies of the Solar System. Small bodies are called asteroids here. The work is mainly carried out by the author of the article with the participation of co-authors. Particular attention is paid to the motivation and goals of the work. Our Earth has a natural satellite—the Moon. However, we do not study the dynamics and physics of the Moon. This is a special big task. There are many specialists who study this.</p>
