Abstract <p>Boris Vsevolodovich Somov, a Professor at Lomonosov Moscow State University, one of the world’s leading scientists in the field of space electrodynamics and solar physics, passed away on December 2, 2022, at the age of 77. This year he would have turned 80. Throughout his life, Boris Vsevolodovich was inextricably linked with scientific and educational activities, more than 30 years of which were spent within the walls of Moscow University. In this essay, we will try to briefly describe the scientific path of Boris Vsevolodovich, his main scientific achievements, as well as the main stages of his biography.</p>
