Abstract <p>We present the results of a study of long-period eclipsing binary systems V891 Mon and KV CMa. The presented study is based on spectral data obtained at the echelle spectrograph HRS of the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) and photometric data from ASAS, TESS and the LCO observatory. The calculated velocity amplitudes of both components allow us to determine the masses of both components of the system.</p>
