Abstract

This work present a methodology for multifrequency study of the quasars radio jets with the aim of exploring it’s morphology in the core regions. Since recent years it was observed that quasar jets are curved, but still they are considered to be straight in models and data processing. Moreover, observations at different radio frequencies reveal a displacement of the core position—the core shift effect—which is the result of the frequency-dependent opacity in a non-uniform jet. In this study, we developed a multi-frequency model that account for both core shift and curved inner jet geometry and performed recovery tests of the model using synthetic multifrequency data sets. The proposed approach represents an advancement of the classical method for core identification and can be used for more accurate modeling of active galactic nuclei jets.
