Abstract <p>This article considers the trends of the accelerating import substitution of the production management of IT; the importance of metallurgy in national security and for the achievement of information sovereignty; and self-investment by the industry in digitalization and software development. Based on the complex structure of the corporate business system of PAO Severstal; the specifics of the functioning of the ERP and MES systems and the subsystems APS, EAM, and SCADA; and the problems, characteristics, implementation examples, and forecast of the effectiveness of the Russian MES prototype Metallurgy are clarified.</p>
