<p>Controlled synthesis of materials with at least one dimension ranging from 1 to 100&#xa0;nm remains challenging. This review focuses on metallic morphologies of Au and Ag obtained from plant extracts and categorizes them by dimension: zero-dimensional (0D), one-dimensional (1D), and two-dimensional (2D). Nanostructures such as quantum dots, nanoparticles, nanowires, and nanosheets are examined for their structural features, properties, and potential applications. Each morphology produced by this method is discussed, including possible growth mechanisms and selected measured properties. The variety of morphologies generated through green synthesis underscores the simplicity of this technique and its potential to harness complex natural resources to grow biomimetic nanostructures directly.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
