Abstract <p>A composite was synthesized, consisting of hydroxyapatite with zinc oxide nanoparticles, which underwent various characterizations. These characterizations allowed for the identification of its crystalline phase, showing no changes when compared to the individual components. The material exhibits a band gap within the expect range, suggesting the potential use of the composite as a broad-spectrum active ingredient in sunscreen, offering a sustainable alternative.
