摘要

The microstructure and chemical composition of hot-rolled Si + Al + Sb electrical steels were modified by a two-stepped annealing conducted before cold rolling. The effects of the changes caused by annealing on the final microstructure and magnetic properties were investigated. Hot-rolled (HR) samples were subjected to a thirty-minute annealing at temperatures between 925 and 1000 ºC, followed by a second stage performed at 850 °C for 3, 6, and 9 h. Heat-treated samples were cold rolled (CR) and subjected to a final annealing (FA) at 850 °C for 30 min. Results show that magnetic properties of final products are significantly improved by application of the two-stepped annealing to the hot-rolled material, opening the possibility to produce more efficient cores for applications in electrical equipment. The enhancement in magnetic behavior was related to an increase in grain size and a reduction in the amount of carbides, which were modified by the two-stepped annealing applied to the hot-rolled material.
