Nanostructured Au–Ag/Bone biogenic composites: Synthesis, characterization, and catalytic application

The development of sustainable methods for degrading environmental pollutants is critical. This study aims to enhance the reusability of catalytic processes by immobilizing metal nanoparticles on biogenic supports. A green biosynthesis approach was used to synthesize the nanocomposite using bovine bone to anchored noble metal (Ag and Au) nanostructures, with Camellia sinensis extract as the reducing agent. The nanocomposites were characterized using IR, UV–Vis DRS, STEM, TEM and XRD, confirming the successful attachment of nanoparticles to the material’s surface. The catalytic performance was evaluated by 4-nitrophenol reduction to 4-aminophenol, demonstrating the nanocomposites’ potential as efficient and recyclable catalysts.
