Investigation of annealing effect on the structural and optical properties of CdS nanoparticles prepared through green synthesis approach: A comparative study
摘要
The present study reports the green synthesis and characterization of Cadmium sulfide (CdS) nanoparticles by using an aqueous extract of Pleurotus osreatus mushroom as a capping agent. The influence of annealing effect is meticulously inspected. The XRD patterns affirm the formation of cubic phase for both the normal CdS (CdS-A) and annealed CdS (CdS-B) samples with average particle sizes of 4.33 nm and 4.61 nm, respectively. TEM images show the spherical shape of the nanoparticles and also reconfirms the particle size estimated from the XRD. Raman analysis affirm the presence of protein molecules and various vibrational modes. The estimated band gap energy is reduced from 2.55 to 2.49 eV owing to the annealing effect. The PL study and the inspection of various spectroscopic parameters like absorbance coefficient, extinction coefficient, refractive index, and optical conductivity also establish the effect of the annealing temperature.
