Investigation of optical and dielectric properties of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles by using terahertz spectroscopy
摘要
The particular spectroscopic characteristics of materials in the terahertz region (0.1 THz to 10 THz) provides a powerful tool for material detection and identification. The electrical, optical, and dielectric properties of materials have been investigated through terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). The purpose of this research is to propose a reliable numerical method for calculating the complex permittivity by utilizing single pulse THz-TDS (transmission) spectroscopy. In present work the absorption spectra, dielectric permittivity, conductivity, and refractive indices of cobalt ferrite are measured using THz-TDS. The obtained results demonstrate the characteristics of the cobalt ferrite nanoparticles. At ambient temperature, cobalt ferrite nanoparticles show a complex refractive index of 2.7 + j0.04 and a THz permittivity of 7.25-j0.02 from 0.1 to 2.85 THz.
