Abstract <p>The quantitative measurements of two-dimensional micro/nano-layered dimples’ geometry on the series of published tensile fractographs of ultra-high-strength low-carbon martensitic steels differentially treated in galvanizing lines have been done and correlated with its corresponding microstructural entities and tensile properties as a function of tempering parameter (<i>P</i>). It has been investigated that dimple size has approximately similar trends with strength properties (both decreasing with <i>P</i>) and inverse trends with ductility properties (ductility increasing with <i>P</i>) as a function of <i>P</i>. This study will help the failure analyst for quality control.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
