Synthesis of biochar@ZnO nanorods composites: Application in electrochemical immunosensor for point-of-care detection of cardiac troponin I
摘要
Biochar@ZnO nanorods (NRs) composite has been successfully synthesized and designed as a working electrode (WE) in a printed circuit board for cardiac troponin I (cTnI) detection. Biochar was synthesized through pyrolisis of the sugarcane bagasse, and biochar@ZnO NRs composite was synthesized using chemical bath deposition. Biochar was mixed with an 80 mM zinc acetate ethanolic solution to favor the growth of ZnO nanorods onto the biochar surface during CBD. Biochar@ZnO NRs were mixed with glutaraldehyde to ensure their deposition on the WE-modified with cystamine and later immobilization of the antibody. Experimental results suggest that the abundance of carbonyl groups from glutaraldehyde on the newly designed electrode improved its performance. The biochar@ ZnO NRs-based immunosensor exhibited excellent electrocatalytic performance, with a linear range from 0.03 to 2 ng.mL−1, and a detection limit (LOD) of 0.1 pg.mL−1. Moreover, the immunosensor exhibits high specificity, with no cross-reaction with cardiac troponin T.
