KI-Agenten in Enterprise Systems – diskutiert am Beispiel der Einzelhandelsdomäne
摘要
Enterprise systems represent the components of a company’s application landscape that support its core tasks. Originally, these components were designed by off-the-shelf software vendors for on-premise deployment, whereas nowadays, there is a growing trend toward deployment as software as a service in the cloud. While the migration of these systems to the cloud has not been completed by many companies, nor by the software vendors themselves, the integration of AI agents is already imminent. However, the profound changes expected in terms of task fulfillment and coordination, as well as the architecture of enterprise systems, have been rarely discussed in the literature to date. Taking the retail sector as an example, this article illustrates which retail-specific tasks can be supported by AI agents. It also analyzes how task fulfillment and coordination, as well as the architecture of enterprise systems, may change through the adoption of AI agents. The article thus provides a foundation for the business and application-system-related effects of AI agents on companies and the enterprise systems components they use.
