摘要

In an ideal world, data would be shared without revealing any sensible information. By using regulations like the Data Governance Act, which regulates data intermediaries, including data trustees, the European Data Strategy aims to bring the data economy into a pioneering position. Due to the international interest in data intermediaries, data trustees are increasingly important as they are a solution to enable data sharing. At the moment, there is no clear picture of the composition of data trustees and their service offers. This paper offers an overview of the landscape of data trustees analyzed according to their similarities. We conducted a cluster analysis of a database of thirty-seven companies, which resulted in six archetypes. These archetypes can be categorized into two meta-archetypes: Social Good Data Trustees, who are especially specialized in healthcare, and For-Profit Data Trustees with a focus on personalized service offerings.
