<p>Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a&#xa0;key value creation factor in the financial industry, as it optimizes existing processes and enables new business models. While numerous research contributions examine the technical, social, and ethical aspects of generative AI, this paper specifically addresses the strategic, technological, and organizational challenges associated with its implementation. Using a&#xa0;case study at DZ BANK AG, the research explores how a&#xa0;hybrid platform approach facilitates a&#xa0;strategically grounded introduction of generative AI. From a&#xa0;technological perspective, the central IT department provides standardized and reusable components, while business units independently develop and adapt AI-based solutions. Organizationally, this requires close coordination between centralized governance and decentralized usage to ensure both scalability and flexibility. An iterative rollout in “waves” combines technological safeguards with a&#xa0;gradual integration into existing business processes. The platform not only provides a&#xa0;controlled and secure infrastructure but also addresses challenges such as regulatory requirements, data quality, and the necessary qualifications of employees. The results indicate that the platform approach reduces technological complexity while promoting organizational agility. Financial institutions benefit from shorter development cycles, more efficient process design, and broader employee involvement. Finally, the paper derives practical recommendations for successfully implementing generative AI in the financial industry.</p>
