Blockchain-Technologie im Supply Chain Management – Anwendungspotenziale und Kompetenzlücken

Companies and application-oriented research have identified enormous potential for blockchain technology in various sectors. The use of blockchain technologies in the context of supply chain management appears particularly promising, as it can increase efficiency, transparency and trust between the various players along the entire supply chain. A success factor for the introduction and operation of productive blockchain solutions is adequate skills management, which ensures that employees have the necessary skills and knowledge. Although existing competence frameworks cover a wide range of digital competencies, they do not yet address any dedicated competencies for the use of blockchain technologies. This article targets this deficit by identifying the potential benefits of blockchain technology in supply chain management based on a brief introduction and presentation of blockchain technology. Building on this, a competence framework for blockchain-based supply chain management is developed. Finally, competence gaps in practice are identified, recommendations for action for companies are formulated and final conclusions are drawn.
