摘要

Petroleum wastewater originates from diverse sources and possesses complex compositions, containing numerous pollutants that pose severe threats to the ecological environment. As a natural biological resource, algae demonstrate dual potential for sustainable remediation and resource utilization in petroleum wastewater treatment. Their remediation mechanisms encompass bioadsorption and bioaccumulation, enzyme-mediated degradation and transformation, as well as light-driven synergistic metabolism. Through the coordinated action of multiple mechanisms, pollutants can be efficiently removed while converting algal biomass into high-value-added products. This paper systematically reviews the efficacy of algal bioremediation technologies in removing various pollutants from petroleum wastewater focused on the bioremediation mechanisms, and deeply analysis the utilization of byproducts generated during the remediation process. Furthermore, the challenges and future prospects of algal bioremediation technology in petroleum wastewater treatment were analyzed. This review will provide useful information for developing biological methods to treat petroleum wastewater and support the achievement of sustainable water use.
