Parameter optimization of shielded metal arc welding process on weld bead geometry using whale optimization algorithm and grasshopper optimization algorithm
摘要
The mechanical and microstructural properties of a metal plays a very crucial role in different applications. To obtain the desired mechanical properties, the manufacturing process plays a very critical role. In joining, the weld bead geometry characteristics is there which determine properties. The dimensions of bead geometry characteristics is there which found out the properties. The characteristics depend on and how the process to be carried out. Therefore in this paper, an attempt has been made to optimize the process parameters of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). The optimization is carried out through whale optimization algorithm (WOA) and grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA). The significant advantage of algorithms include fast convergence, stochastic, fewer parameters and balance approach between global search and local search. The predicted values of bead geometry is compared with experimental results and it was found that lower error of 0.22% in WOA and 0.28% in GOA as compared to 0.51% in D-optimal error in regression model obtained in the previous data set [
