Background <p>Fetal hepatic hemangioendothelioma is a rare vascular tumor that can be detected prenatally using advanced imaging techniques. This study presents a case involving the diagnosis and management of hepatic hemangioendothelioma in an infant born to a mother with gestational diabetes.</p> <p>Case presentation.</p> <p>We present the case of a 34-year-old primigravida (G1) at 37&#xa0;weeks and 5&#xa0;days of gestation, who was diagnosed with fetal liver lesions during a routine prenatal ultrasound. The patient has a history of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) managed through dietary measures and underwent a comprehensive evaluation and follow-up. Following delivery at 38&#xa0;weeks of gestation, the neonate was diagnosed with hepatic hemangioendothelioma, a rare benign vascular tumor of the liver.</p> Conclusion <p>This case emphasizes the significance of prenatal imaging in detecting fetal anomalies and highlights the necessity for multidisciplinary care in managing pregnancies complicated by fetal liver lesions.</p>

Background

Fetal hepatic hemangioendothelioma is a rare vascular tumor that can be detected prenatally using advanced imaging techniques. This study presents a case involving the diagnosis and management of hepatic hemangioendothelioma in an infant born to a mother with gestational diabetes.

Case presentation.
