“Predictive analytics for microvascular decompression: a practical scoring approach for outcome stratification”
摘要
The standard surgical treatment for medically refractory trigeminal neuralgia is microvascular decompression (MVD); however, despite positive immediate results, pain recurrence is still a concern. Individualized risk assessment and follow-up planning are not well supported by traditional binary outcome reporting. In order to stratify recurrence risk following MVD, we have developed a straightforward clinical framework called the Microvascular Decompression Predictive Management Score (MVD-PMS), which incorporates easily accessible clinical, imaging, operative, and early postoperative variables. To direct postoperative surveillance, counselling, and consideration of adjunctive interventions, patients are divided into three risk categories: low, intermediate, and high. MVD-PMS may enable personalized postoperative care and enhance long-term outcome evaluation by converting established prognostic factors into a useful scoring system.
