Background <p>Flow-diverter stents (FDSs) represent an alternative treatment for complex cerebral aneurysms. Those stents are placed in the parent artery across the neck of the aneurysm to disrupt the intra-aneurysmal blood flow. They help slow intra-aneurysmal thrombosis and offer support for neo-intima development. Experience with this technique is rapidly increasing, and many studies have addressed this issue. This study aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of the Pipeline Flex FDS in treating cerebral aneurysms. A prospective single-center study was done from September 2021 to March 2024, including 40 patients with intracranial aneurysms. All patients were treated with the Pipeline Flex FDS. Angiographic evaluation of the target aneurysm with digital subtraction angiography was done pre-treatment, immediately post-treatment, after 12 months, and after 18 months in some cases.</p> Results <p>Complete occlusion of the target aneurysm was achieved in all cases (100%) at 18 months following the intervention. The estimated morbidity was 2.5% (1/40). No mortality cases were reported.</p> Conclusions <p>The Pipeline Flex FDS is safe and effective in treating intracranial aneurysms with low morbidity and mortality.</p>

Background
