摘要

Scientific writing workshops have evolved into crucial platforms for enhancing expertise in academic writing skills, fostering confidence, and stimulating research pursuits among researchers. This quantitative study employed a structured questionnaire administered to 440 researchers (M.Phil., Ph.D., and Post-Doctoral Fellows) selected through purposive (criterion-based) sampling, supported by snowball sampling across Karnataka, India. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability and validity assessments, and structural equation modeling to examine the influence of scientific writing workshops on academic write-ups, with a focus on the mediating role of analytical skills and personal efforts. The results revealed that participation in scientific writing workshops significantly enhances the quality of academic writing when accompanied by strong analytical ability and sustained personal effort. Specifically, workshops contribute to improved topic selection, journal selection, collaboration, research ethics, research aspirations and content knowledge. Further, significant differences were found across workshop type, duration, and academic stage, confirming the moderating effects of these contextual variables. These findings suggest that integrating structured writing mentorship and analytical skill training into academic development programs can substantially elevate institutional research standards and global scholarly visibility.
