<p>Recently, many Lithuanian citizens have been living in other countries. For this reason, Lithuania has created a document <i>Integrated Program for Lithuanian Heritage Language Education</i> (Dėl Lituanistinio švietimo integruotos programos patvirtinimo [Regarding the acceptance of the intergated Lithuanian education program], <CitationRef CitationID="CR24">2019</CitationRef>. <a href="https://e-seimas.lrs.lt/portal/legalAct/lt/TAD/e527e7d0913611e98a8298567570d639?jfwid=nl6mpyyfk">https://e-seimas.lrs.lt/portal/legalAct/lt/TAD/e527e7d0913611e98a8298567570d639?jfwid=nl6mpyyfk</a>) in an effort to bring Lithuanian citizens back to Lithuania and to create favorable conditions for Lithuanians living abroad. The study analyzes the structural discrepancy between the state-mandated <i>Integrated Program for Lithuanian Heritage Language Education</i> (Dėl Lituanistinio švietimo integruotos programos patvirtinimo [Regarding the acceptance of the intergated Lithuanian education program], <CitationRef CitationID="CR24">2019</CitationRef>. <a href="https://e-seimas.lrs.lt/portal/legalAct/lt/TAD/e527e7d0913611e98a8298567570d639?jfwid=nl6mpyyfk">https://e-seimas.lrs.lt/portal/legalAct/lt/TAD/e527e7d0913611e98a8298567570d639?jfwid=nl6mpyyfk</a>) and the reality of multilingual diaspora weekend schools in Norway. Teachers and parents from three Lithuanian schools in Norway (n = 13) participated in the study and shared their insights on the practical application of the developed program during semi-structured interviews. In addition, a qualitative content analysis of the program was performed. A qualitative analysis of the document's content showed that the program's goal is to help Lithuanians living abroad learn the Lithuanian language, preserve their national identity, develop civic values, and learn about the country's history and culture. The teachers who participated in the study stated that although the program provides high-quality teaching content guidelines, the content is not appropriate for the age of the children, as their Lithuanian language skills are not related to their age; the program lacks flexibility.</p>
