Background <p>Promoting social issues advocacy among counselors and counselor candidates is critical to providing support to disadvantaged individuals and institutions. The present study utilized latent profile analysis to explore the patterns of social issues advocacy, resilience, empathy, self-efficacy and burnout among counselors and counselor candidates.</p> Methods <p>The sample consisted of 358 women and 88 men (M<sub>age</sub> = 22.79, <i>SD</i> = 3.77, range = 18–41).</p> Results <p>The results indicated a three-profile solution: unconcerned advocates (9.8%), resilient advocates (50.3%), and fragile advocates (39.9%). The findings are discussed and recommendations are provided.</p> Conclusions <p>The implications have been discussed.</p>

Background

Promoting social issues advocacy among counselors and counselor candidates is critical to providing support to disadvantaged individuals and institutions. The present study utilized latent profile analysis to explore the patterns of social issues advocacy, resilience, empathy, self-efficacy and burnout among counselors and counselor candidates.

Methods

The sample consisted of 358 women and 88 men (Mage = 22.79, SD = 3.77, range = 18–41).

Results

The results indicated a three-profile solution: unconcerned advocates (9.8%), resilient advocates (50.3%), and fragile advocates (39.9%). The findings are discussed and recommendations are provided.

Conclusions

The implications have been discussed.
