摘要

To investigate the impact of intergroup contact on Chinese national community identity (CNCI), as well as the mediating role of ethnic interaction attitudes and the moderating role of intergroup trust, a survey was conducted among 778 students from two universities in Guangxi, China. The results show that (1) intergroup contact promotes CNCI; (2) ethnic interaction attitudes play a mediating role between intergroup contact and CNCI; (3) CNCI`s relationship with intergroup contact and with ethnic interaction attitudes is moderated by intergroup trust. These results clarify the importance of intergroup contact, positive interaction attitudes, and high levels of intergroup trust in building and strengthening CNCI.
