Entrepreneurial thinking dimensions and business success: the mediating role of entrepreneurial thinking

The growing importance of entrepreneurship makes the investigation of entrepreneurial thinking desirable. Flowing from the theory of entrepreneurship thinking dimension, this study investigated entrepreneurial thinking dimensions in Nigeria and the extent to which entrepreneurial thinking mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial thinking dimensions and business success. The design was a cross-sectional survey of 231 owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the South-South geopolitical region of Nigeria. Structural equation modelling was performed to determine the extent to which entrepreneurial thinking predicts entrepreneurial risk taking, innovativeness, tolerance for ambiguity that influence entrepreneurial thinking. The results indicated that risk taking, innovativeness, and entrepreneurship and opportunity recognition are significant consequences of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking significantly mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial thinking dimensions and business success.
