A mathematical model elucidating the seasonal transmission dynamics of brucellosis in bison
摘要
This research paper builds upon our previous work, which assumed a constant disease transmission rate, by incorporating a periodic transmission rate influenced by environmental factors and considering the contribution of both infectious and chronic states to disease spread. While this enhancement offers a more realistic representation of disease transmission dynamics, it also increases the complexity of the model analysis. Additionally, we examine control measures in conjunction with the initial vaccine strategy. It provides essential analyses of the model, including the respective reproduction number. Optimal control model is investigated, exploring diverse strategies to mitigate brucellosis infections in bison. Drawing on real data from Montana state, our analysis unveils a periodic pattern in the infections. Simulation findings indicate that implementing a comprehensive approach involving vaccination programs, culling, and sanitation measures could effectively disrupt the periodicity of brucellosis in Montana state.
