In vitro fertilization-frozen embryo transfer in a patient with gonadotroph adenoma: Exacerbation of ovarian hyperstimulation by triptorelin: a case report
摘要
Functional gonadotropic adenoma is a rare pituitary adenoma. Only a few cases have been reported.
Case presentationHerein, we describe the case of a 30-year-old Chinese woman with functional gonadotroph adenomas (FGAs) with relative hyperprolactinemia and no obvious neurologic signs. Ovarian hyperstimulation due to a follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)-secreting adenoma was observed after treatment with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue (GnRH-a). The patient was successfully treated through pituitary adenomectomy and experienced a successful pregnancy after in vitro fertilization (IVF).
ConclusionOur report suggests that a patient showing ovarian hyperstimulation related to an FSH-secreting adenoma may present with high PRL and estradiol levels and indicates that transsphenoidal surgery should be the first choice for treatment.
