A descriptive cross-sectional study of polysomnographic characteristics and clinical significance in Chinese patients with clinically suspected Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome (OSAHS)
摘要
Objective
To explore polysomnographic features and clinical implications of suspected OSAHS patients in central China.
ResultsOf 100 enrolled patients, 81% were males, with a mean age of 41.6 ± 13.5 years. 76% had overweight or obesity and the mean BMI was 27.4 ± 4.9 kg/m², while 44% suffered severe OSAHS. Obstructive apnea occupied 90.9% of respiratory events. BMI positively correlated with AHI (r = 0.316, p = 0.001), with statistical significance only seen in males. AHI presented negative correlations with minimum oxygen saturation and deep sleep proportion. Oxygen level varied distinctly among severity groups. REM-stage minimum SpO₂ had the closest inverse link with AHI, representing a rarely reported regional characteristic.
