Prevalence and outcomes of cerebral vasculitis in patients with comatose ventilated meningitis in the dexamethasone era
摘要
Abstract
Cerebral vasculitis affected 22% of comatose patients with bacterial meningitis, predominantly Streptococcus pneumoniae, despite high dexamethasone usage (85%). Vasculitis was associated with prolonged mechanical ventilation, extended ICU stays, and increased mortality. Further research is required to refine therapeutic strategies and clarify the impact of corticosteroid therapy.
