Objective <p>To conduct a bibliometric analysis of global Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) research from 2015 to 2024, mapping its developmental trajectory, research hotspots, and academic impact.</p> Methods <p>Publications from 2015 to 2024 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Bibliometric analysis was performed using Bibliometrix, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer to analyze publication volume, country/institutional collaboration, journal impact, co-citation, and keyword clustering.</p> Results <p>The analysis included 6,261 publications. Annual output showed sustained growth, peaking at 793 publications in 2022. The USA was the most active contributor, involved in 3,210 unique publications, and served as the central hub in the international collaboration network. The ASAIO Journal had the most publications, while the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation had the highest citation impact. Keyword evolution revealed a shift from technical concerns (e.g., ‘pump thrombosis’) to clinical management themes (e.g., ‘quality of life’, ‘guidelines’, ‘diagnosis’).</p> Conclusion <p>The LVAD research field has undergone substantial evolution, as evidenced by the bibliometric shift from device technology optimization towards patient-centered whole-process management. Future efforts should focus on mechanistic exploration, real-world evidence, and interdisciplinary collaboration.</p>

Objective

To conduct a bibliometric analysis of global Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) research from 2015 to 2024, mapping its developmental trajectory, research hotspots, and academic impact.
