Senhance-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for mediastinal tumor
摘要
Minimally invasive surgery has become the standard approach in many fields, including thoracic surgery. Robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) has been increasingly introduced over the past two decades. The Senhance™ surgical system (Asensus Surgical, Inc.) was developed as a next-generation robotic platform. At our institution, nine thoracic surgical procedures for mediastinal tumor were performed at our institution using the Senhance™ surgical system. The procedures included six thymomas, two thymic cysts, and one pericardial cyst. Operative time ranged from 146 to 285 min (median, 182 min). The duration of Senhance™ utilization ranged from 30 to 138 min (median, 51 min). Estimated blood loss ranged from 22 to 100 mL (median, 30 mL). One patient developed a postoperative subcutaneous hematoma at the port site, requiring surgical evacuation the following day, while all other postoperative courses were uneventful. These findings suggest that the application of the Senhance system for mediastinal tumor resection is feasible and associated with an acceptable safety profile.
