Cross sectional analytical design using structured questionnaire was used to collect data pertaining to socio-demographic factors, behavioral factors, anthropometry and blood pressure was captured among all the screened participants.</p> Results <p>Total of 2588 participants were screened in the health camp. More than three-fourth (76.9%) were males. The overall prevalence of hypertension was 30.9% with male and female prevalence of 34.6% and 18.4% respectively. The proportion of obesity was observed to be 8.4%. Hypertension was significantly associated with age, obesity, and presence of family history of non-communicable diseases.</p> Conclusion <p>The raised prevalence of hypertension among the backbone of country’s economy that is the male industrial workers and the known determinants similar to general population alarms the policy makers to move beyond secondary prevention.</p>

Background
