Background/objectives <p>Undergraduate female students are a vulnerable demographic due to their unique combination of factors including age, irregular eating habits, etc. The study was done to understand the micronutrient knowledge, attitudes, and practices among undergraduate female nutrition and dietetics students.</p> Methods <p>An institutional-based cross-sectional study design was used among 139 undergraduate female students in the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture. A semi-structured validated electronic questionnaire that measured the knowledge, attitudes and practices of micronutrient intake was used, while students’ demographic information was assessed as well. The students completed the electronic questionnaire using their smartphones while in the lecture hall. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation), and logistic regression.</p> Results <p>Most (71.9%) of sample undergraduate female students were of higher (300–400) level, and 28.1% were of lower (100–200) level. Some (49.6%) had good knowledge, 50.4% had poor knowledge, 85.6% had positive attitudes, and 44.6% had good practices. There was significant relationship (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.05) between knowledge about micronutrient and higher level of education, with 20.5% variability.</p> Conclusion <p>Most respondents had poor knowledge and positive attitude towards micronutrient intake. Higher level of education was strongly linked to increased knowledge about micronutrient intake among respondents. The findings emphasize the need for targeted nutrition education and awareness programs to address knowledge gaps.</p>
