Background <p>This systematic review aims to summarise the knowledge available about adaptational resilience and coping strategies among Italian healthcare professionals, including nurses and midwives, used during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research question was “What adaptational resilience and coping strategies have Italian healthcare professionals (including nurses and midwives) enacted during the Covid-19 pandemic?”.</p> Methods <p>This study adhered to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines and was registered with the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews database (CRD42024595044). Five databases were searched. Nine studies met the inclusion criteria and subjected to quality assessment. The data were analysed using thematic analysis.</p> Results <p>Thematic analysis was used to identify two major themes: resilience and self-efficacy and coping strategies. Adaptive problem-focused coping strategies adopted by healthcare professionals had a relevant place in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.</p> Conclusions <p>Substantial evidence supports the effectiveness of resilience and coping strategies empowerment to preserve psychological well-being and prevent serious psychological consequences among healthcare professionals in healthcare systems.</p>
